Printed electronics from Norrköping in the medal for European Choir Games

At the end of last week, we attended a press release event to get a look at the medals for the European Choir Games - one of Europe's largest choir competitions taking place in Norrköping from October 28 to November 5. The medal ribbons have a cool feature – they change colors thanks to a heat sensor.

The medals have a theme of “Old Meets New. Norrköping being a hub for printed and organic electronics, a technological field that’s all about sustainable innovations, we are especially excited that the medals were developed in collaboration with RISE (Research Institutes of Sweden) and the expertise in Norrköping. The medal ribbons have been enhanced with a technological touch – a heat sensor that causes the ribbon to change colors.

The medal ribbons, in turn, hold a medal made of green marble from Kolmården. The marble can also be found in places like Stockholm’s Royal Palace, the Opera House in Paris, the Rockefeller Center in New York, and even the United Nations buildings in Geneva.
