International workshop days in Norrköping!
From November 4-7, Norrköping welcomed participants of the Scaleup Launchpad program for workshop-days aimed at equipping scaleup companies with strategies for sustainable growth. Hosted by Norrköping Science Park, the event brought together innovative tech companies from Sweden, Finland, and Estonia, representing a range of industries and solutions—from AI and IoT to construction and recruitment technology.
A mix and a twist of companies
The lineup of companies for this workshop included a mix of industries and solutions, from three different countries. The event kicked off with a unique twist on introductions: each company presented another’s business using slides they hadn’t seen before, sparking plenty of laughs and breaking the ice as everyone learned about each other’s work. This was followed by a a guided tour around the old industry area that is central Norrköping, adding a local touch to the first day’s activities.
Strategy in focus
Over the next two days, the companies took part in hands-on activities aimed at sharpening their strategies. A key highlight was the study visit to Händelö Eco-Industrial Park, where they got to explore sustainable industrial practices. This was followed by an interactive strategy workshop led by Daniel Kindström from Linköping University. Afterwards, companies received feedback on their strategic insights from a panel that included Daniel, Alexander Morrone from Business Sweden, and Dag Forsén from Norrköping Science Park. Their feedback gave each company some new perspectives to consider.
From Norrköping – to space – and beyond
The days also included plenty of chances to connect with local stakeholders, as well as matchmaking sessions with other companies, and listening to success stories from local companies like Voyado and Redox.me, who shared insights from their own journeys of international growth. We also got to experience a tour of Norrköping’s Visualization Centre, with a memorable journey that took us from the digital twin of Norrköping city into outer space – trough the Open Space platform.
Moving forward
The event wrapped up on a high note, with participants leaving not only with valuable strategic insights but also a sense of connection and inspiration. Reflecting on the experience, one participant Glen Kelp from the Estonian company GaltTec shared:
“I came in with no idea where I’m going, and as I left, I felt so grateful I got the chance to come. What a lovely place and such awesome people!”
This first workshop has set a solid foundation, creating a supportive network for these scaleups as they push towards international growth. We look forward to seeing them continue their journeys together as the program continues. The next workshop event will take place in Tartu, Estonia during the sTARTUp days 19-21 of January 2025.
A big thanks to all the participants!🇫🇮🇪🇪🇸🇪
