New Project: Internationalization Meets Logistics and Transport
We are happy to announce that Norrköping Science Park has been granted a new study project! The study called “Internationalization of Swedish Growth Companies in Logistics and Transport" will run from August to November together with partners Linköping Science Park and Intuizio.
A Major Collaboration for Sustainability
In collaboration with the Swedish Energy Agency, Linköping Science Park, and Intuizio, the study aims to better understand the landscape of Swedish scaleup companies within the sustainable logistics value chain, as well as their needs and interests in internationalization.
There are many innovative Swedish companies with leading solutions in sustainable logistics. To be able to provide the right support for these companies to enter international markets, the study will proceed with mapping out the sustainable logistics value chain. This includes identifying which Swedish growth companies are interested in internationalization, the obstacles they face, their needs, and their preferred target markets, along with the reasons behind these preferences. The goal is to understand what support is needed to help and encourage small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in sustainable logistics to expand globally.
Key figures in the project include Daniel Kullgard and Fredrik Larsson from Linköping Science Park, and Petter Huddén from Intuizio. Together, we aim to pave the way for a future where Swedish innovations in logistics not only reduce carbon emissions but also create jobs and promote economic growth.
Understanding Needs and Opportunities
The project seeks to understand and support Swedish companies in reaching international markets. By identifying obstacles and needs, as well as attractive markets, the study aims to understand the conditions for international growth.
“We want to clearly understand the sustainable logistics value chain in Sweden, the companies involved, and what they need to succeed internationally,” says Darius Sarka, project manager.
Focus on Innovation, Sustainability, and Logistics
The Swedish Energy Agency is already actively working with programs in the USA, Germany, India, and Southeast Asia, and is now increasing its efforts by focusing on specific areas such as mobility. Sweden has many leading companies in digital logistics solutions – from CO2 tracking and route planning to sharing services. Other key areas include heavy vehicles, last-mile deliveries, and autonomous vehicles.
Swedish ports and airports, with their ambitious zero-emission goals, are also central to this initiative. Additionally, Sweden is at the forefront of sustainable aviation with innovations in Sustainable Aviation Fuels and drones.
We look forward to lay this path that will support Swedish companies in their international expansion, contributing to a more sustainable global logistics value chain.

According to the ”Fossilfritt 2030 – Rena resan” survey in 2022, a majority of Norrköping residents wishes to decrease the space for car traffic in inner city and almost half of all respondents preferred the street space to be taken over by pedestrians, cyclists, and public transport, significantly reducing space for cars.
