The Thesis Program connects students with tech companies in Norrköping

For nearly two years, Norrköping Science Park has been gathering the network Norrköping Tech Team, a dozen companies all passionate about the tech city Norrköping. Together, we are the initiators of the Thesis Program, a joint effort with a common goal: to strengthen Norrköping's technical expertise and promote networking between students and companies.

The Tech Team as a platform for collaboration

The Tech Team includes companies such as Stadium, Holmen, Siemens Energy, Voyado, HiQ, Interspectral, STMicroelectronics, Everon, Optiplan, and Gaia. Through this network, Norrköping Science Park aims to create a platform for technology-driven companies in Norrköping to collaborate.

A Thesis Program as an initiative for future competence

The Thesis Program emerged from a common challenge concerning competence supply. Norrköping is fortunate to have access to an exceptional university with a campus in the city, offering outstanding engineering and technology education. Many of these students come into contact with the companies in the Tech Team through their thesis projects each year. From this interaction, the idea was born to allow thesis workers at the companies to network with each other and also meet other Tech Team member companies during their thesis period.

The study visits showcase the tech opportunities in Norrköping

During the spring of 2024, the thesis workers in the program have visited four member companies, including Stadium, Holmen Paper, Interspectral, and this week, a final visit was held at Siemens Energy. These study visits provide students with a unique insight into Norrköping’s technical landscape and the opportunity to meet potential future employers in the tech industry.

To be continued

The plan is to continue with the Thesis Program next year, and together continue building upon the strength within Norrköping and the Tech Team to foster more good ideas, collaborations, and initiatives.
