Three new international projects approved!
After two successful years with three internationalization projects within the Central Baltic program, we are now excited to announce that we have received three more! This is a unique achievement - it was already rare for a Swedish organization to be awarded three projects initially, and now we have done it again. With a total of six Central Baltic projects, we strengthen our role as a strong international player and continue to enhance the opportunities for companies to grow in the global market.
Interreg Central Baltic – an international EU program
Interreg Central Baltic is an EU-funded cooperation program supporting cross-border projects between Sweden, Finland, Estonia, and Latvia, fostering innovation, business development, and sustainability.
“This time, 111 applications were submitted, but only 43 projects were approved – meaning the competition was tough, with a success rate of just 39%. We are also incredibly proud that Norrköping Science Park is the lead partner in one of the projects – making us one out of just four Swedish leads,” says Linda Robinson, Project Manager at Norrköping Science Park.

The three new projects
are Leap4Growth, Intelligent Connected Cities (ICC), and IAS Business Academy, all of which aim to support companies in their internationalization and growth:
- Leap4Growth is a continuation of the previous project Bridging4Growth but with a new focus on Southeast Asia – particularly Vietnam and Hong Kong. The project helps small and medium sized companies (SMEs) in Greentech and Healthtech establish themselves in these fast-growing markets through market analyses, mentoring programs, and business delegations. The goal is for 20 companies to secure new contracts in the region.
- Intelligent Connected Cities (ICC) aims to connect small and medium-sized enterprises in the Central Baltic region with global urban development projects, so-called megaprojects. By creating a digital company portfolio and strategic partnerships, the project gives 80 companies the opportunity to participate in tenders and innovation challenges, with the goal of securing at least 20 new business contracts.
- IAS Business Academy focuses on supporting companies within Innovative Aerial Services (IAS) – drone-based services – in their growth journey. Through a specially designed academy, 50 companies will gain access to training, study trips, networking, and demonstration projects to facilitate their expansion.

These three projects are another step in our long-term efforts to strengthen the internationalization profile of Norrköping Science Park and the companies we collaborate with. Through our engagement in the Central Baltic program, we create more opportunities for Swedish companies to grow internationally and establish themselves in new markets.

To support 100 SMEs on their way toward export in the Greater Bay Area and Vietnam, the Leap4Growth team began with the most important step: understanding the markets from the inside. Before inviting companies to join delegations in 2026, we travelled to both regions to meet local partners, map opportunities, understand the business culture and identify what it actually takes to grow there. The result is a clearer picture of where Nordic and Baltic SMEs can succeed, and what they need to prepare for. Here is part one: Hong Kong.
