Innovate Electrochemistry Lab (IEL) is a collaboration between Redoxme AB, Linköping University, and Norrköping Science Park. The project focuses on developing electrochemical energy systems powered by renewable electricity, free from critical raw materials (CRMs) and PFAS. Through research, education, and innovation, IEL strengthens Norrköping’s role as a hub for sustainable technology and energy solutions.
Purpose of project
The purpose of the project is to:
-
Develop next-generation solutions in fuel cells, redox flow batteries, hydrogen electrolyzers, hydrogen storage in liquids, and water purification,
-
Establish research and test environments in Norrköping to attract companies, researchers, and students,
-
Contribute to a fossil-free future by transforming research into innovations and practical applications.
Expected results
The project is expected to deliver:
-
Education & talent development – inspiring more young people to pursue STEM, as well as providing scholarships and internships.
-
Community and societal benefits – new sustainable energy initiatives and welfare innovations that support regional development.
-
Research excellence – new testbeds, laboratories, and international collaborations that position Campus Norrköping as a leading center in electrochemistry.
-
Economic growth – fostering startups, strengthening local industry, attracting investments, and creating new jobs.
