21 companies take the next step internationally after Scaleup Launchpad

Published On: 2026-01-283.6 min read

The Scaleup Launchpad project has now concluded after two intensive program rounds and close collaboration across national borders. In total, 28 companies from Sweden, Finland, and Estonia participated. Of these, 21 have reached the scaleup stage and are now better equipped for continued growth and internationalization.

Scaleup Launchpad was delivered as a cross-border collaboration between three countries and consisted of two program rounds with joint workshops in Norrköping, Tampere, and Tartu. Through targeted business support, practical tools, and peer-to-peer learning, participating companies strengthened their capacity to develop their businesses and take the step into new markets.

For several of the companies, the project resulted in concrete and measurable outcomes. During the program, companies hired new staff—such as export managers—secured their first cross-border customers in the Central Baltic region, developed new service designs, and implemented changes to their business models to strengthen their competitiveness.

“Scaleup Launchpad has been about turning ambition into real action,” says project manager Darius Sarka. “We see clear results in how the companies have grown, professionalised their ways of working, and become better prepared to expand internationally. The fact that 21 companies have now reached the scaleup stage shows that targeted support and cross-border collaboration truly make a difference.”

As part of the project’s international focus, Scaleup Launchpad—together with a selected group of companies—also participated in the international tech and startup event Slush 2025. This provided companies with opportunities to gain inspiration, explore international trends, and build valuable connections in a global innovation environment. The visit also offered time for reflection on their own development journeys and on how insights from Scaleup Launchpad can be carried forward.

Next step: continued international expansion

For several of the companies, Scaleup Launchpad is not an end point, but the beginning of the next phase. Many have already expressed interest in participating in upcoming export initiatives, including ICC and Leap4Growth. Both initiatives involve Norrköping Science Park and focus on markets in Southeast Asia.

As a first concrete step, a business delegation to Hong Kong is planned for March 23–27, followed by a delegation to Saudi Arabia on April 13–16. For participating companies, this represents an opportunity to build new international connections and continue their growth journeys in global markets.

Scaleup Launchpad has therefore not only strengthened the competitiveness of participating companies, but also laid the foundation for long-term international collaboration and sustainable growth in the region.

Voices from the project

“The other companies in the program are the biggest assets of Scaleup Launchpad. It is one thing to learn about theory on how to structure strategy, but to hear from a fellow founder over a beer how they messed up similar situations in the past and what they would do differently is far more valuable. People are very transparent, friendly, and engaged. To quote a classic: ‘I’m lovin’ it,’” says Pavel Schoffer, Founder of Beaver Codes.

“The mentorship and expertise provided through the program are invaluable, and we aim to leverage these to refine our product offering and scale our operations. Ultimately, we look forward to creating a lasting impact by bringing our technology to new regions and helping to protect homes and businesses,” says Fredrik Lindell, CEO at Elementric.

“The bigger Commu grows, the greater the positive impact we can create. Scaleup Launchpad is a fantastic way for us to explore new international markets where our app could bring value. Through initiatives like this, Commu aims to uncover new opportunities and projects. We’re looking for ways to make a difference in places we might not have considered on our own” says Karoliina Kauhanen, Head of Marketing, Investor Relations and Customer Service at Commu.
